REBIRTH OF UKRAINE:International Trade Mission to Finland and Estonia

06/05/2026

Mayors of Slovakia will participate in the international business mission "REBIRTH OF UKRAINE", which will take place from 6–12 May 2026 in Helsinki (6–9 May) and Tallinn (10–12 May)

The mission focuses on connecting representatives of Finnish, Estonian and Ukrainian companies, municipalities, investors and other institutions with the aim of supporting the reconstruction and economic revival of Ukraine. Its main objective is to discuss and subsequently implement concrete steps in international cooperation and financing that will contribute to the country’s future economic stability and development.

The mission programme is to include expert forums, B2B meetings, networking and accompanying working formats (such as business lunches, strategic communication and accompanying cultural and educational activities). The mission’s topics focus mainly on infrastructure (including shelters, industrial parks, waste management, heating and social infrastructure) and energy (green energy and clean technologies), while also covering other areas such as export/import, food industry, healthcare and rehabilitation, education and IT.

 Mission objectives:

  • To connect participants from Ukraine with decision-makers, investors and other relevant partners in order to significantly advance concrete and mutually beneficial opportunities in selected regions.

  • To share specific needs, initiatives and opportunities available in Ukraine; to support recovery and investment in the most promising sectors and to present financial instruments for risk mitigation for investors.

  • To engage representatives of Ukrainian municipalities and businesses with the aim of creating a direct network of contacts and direct access to Ukraine for Finnish and Estonian companies.

  • To initiate a network of Finnish and Estonian stakeholders interested in future opportunities in Ukraine and to support concrete direct cooperation.

The REBIRTH OF UKRAINE mission is an opportunity to move support for Ukraine’s recovery from declarations to actionable partnerships. The participation of Mayors of Slovakia is seen as a space to establish concrete contacts with Finnish and Estonian partners, identify projects with a clear regional impact, and open a discussion on financing and reducing investment risks.
