The Memorandum with ZMOS forms the basis of today's activities of Mayors of Slovakia

On 25 November 2025, still operating under the then legal name Coalition of Cities, Partnerships and Sport, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with ZMOS. Since then, a rebranding has taken place and the current name is Mayors of Slovakia – however, the content and commitments of the memorandum remain fully valid and are being continuously followed up on.

The memorandum creates a stable and practical framework for the systematic linking of Slovak local governments with international partners, the development of municipal diplomacy and the support of concrete partnerships between cities and municipalities of the Slovak Republic and Ukraine, making use of the background and network of the Mayors' Club platform in Europe and in Ukraine.

The cooperation focuses mainly on areas such as twin towns (twinning), professional exchange and capacity building of local governments, the recovery and resilience of cities and regions, culture and youth work, smart cities and digitalisation, sports and community life, social inclusion, and the implementation of cross-border and international projects.
