Building partnerships between Slovakia, Czechia and Ukraine for the development of local governments, better public services and a higher quality of life in cities and towns.

Professional consultations and information
Providing consultations, sharing experience, and delivering relevant information to support decision-making by municipalities, partners, and clients.
Fair and Transparent Rules of Cooperation
Clear rules are set for cooperation in specific initiatives, transparency is promoted, and support is provided to align the expectations of the public and private sectors.
Innovation and Modernization of Public Services
Supporting the implementation of modern solutions, including work with data and technologies, real-life testing, and scaling effective practices to other municipalities.
Resilience and Recovery of Territories
Helping cities and regions increase their resilience to crises and prepare for recovery wherever it is purposeful and feasible – from planning to partner coordination.
How We Work
Cities and municipalities face challenges that are difficult to solve without coordination and partnerships. On one hand, they need reliable suppliers, innovators and investors, while on the other hand they must comply with public sector regulations, ensure transparency and follow traceable procedures. Entrepreneurs and experts, in turn, often encounter the problem that they do not know the specific needs in the territory, the logic of decision-making in local governments or the available financial instruments.
The non-governmental organization Mayors of Slovakia responds to this “intermediate level” between the public and private sectors. It connects local governments from Slovakia, Czechia and Ukraine with the business and expert community, as well as with public institutions, in a way that leads to real assignments, partnerships and projects – not just general declarations.
Activities are based on clear and fair rules:
local governments gain access to proven solutions, relevant partners and project capacities,
entrepreneurs and expert partners engage in topics through pilot solutions, expertise, technologies or co-financing,
projects support the transparent involvement of additional stakeholders – from the state and universities to donors – in line with the rules of each specific initiative.
